Become a Prudential Teaching Scholar

The Prudential Foundation and the Center of Pedagogy at Montclair State University seek strong, post-baccalaureate teacher candidates to teach math and science in the Newark Public Schools
  • If you graduated college with a strong GPA and a major in math or science, or the equivalent
  • If you want to enhance your career by becoming a teacher leader
  • This program will pay your tuition to obtain a teaching license in math or science

Program Highlights

  • Practice teaching in schools committed to teacher learning

Candidate Highlights

  • 2.8 minimum undergraduate GPA
  • Undergraduate major in math, science, or a close equivalent (30 credits minimum)
  • Commitment to work in urban high schools
  • Passing score on the appropriate mathematics or science Praxis
