Student Advisement

Advisement Procedure

The Health & Nutrition Sciences Department Advisement Team consists of:
  • The Student
  • Department Administrator
  • Faculty Advisors
Each member of the team has specific responsibilities in the advisement process. Students must review the Student Handbook and their official program of study, which appears on WESS. The program of study lists the required courses for completion of degree requirements. The student handbook details the university policies established by the academic community. Review of these materials is a student responsibility. Students are assigned a faculty advisor who can assist them in choosing courses, review their degree progress and assist with the processing of credit adjustments, and change of major forms. The faculty advisors can also offer advice regarding internships, cooperative education experiences, and career options. Each advisor has posted office hours for drop in or appointment visits. In the event that a student's faculty advisor is unavailable for an appointment or when time is of the essence, students can make an appointment with the Department Administrator.
