Each member of the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences advisement team has specific responsibilities. The advisement team consists of :

The Student :

Students are responsible for reviewing their degree audit regularly (the degree audit is available is available in WESS). The degree audit lists the courses required for the completion of a degree. Students should also review the Montclair State University Handbook (available on the University website) to familiarize themselves with the University's academic policies.

The Faculty Advisor :

Each Student in the department is assigned a faculty advisor (see below). Faculty advisors can assist students in choosing courses, reviewing degree progress, and processing credit adjustments. They can also be valuable sources of advice and information about future career directions. Each advisor has posted office hours for drop-in or is available by appointment.

Please note: If, for any reason, a student needs an advisor reassignment, he or she should contact the program Coordinator for his or her degree program.

The Department Administrator :

Although students should attempt to work with their faculty advisors whenever possible, the Department Administrator is available to assist students when faculty advisors are unavailable (such as during the summer months) or during registration periods or at the start of classes when time may be of the essence. Students can drop in to the Department Administrator's office at any time; however, there isn't always a guarantee that she will be available to meet for a drop-in appointment. Best times to drop in are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Students can also call or email to make a specific appointment.
