Curriculum and Teaching

The Curriculum and Teaching Department prepares educators who teach courses who teach subjects such as History, English, Science, Math, and foreign languages in secondary schools as well as specialty areas (Art, Music, Physical Education) in P-12 settings. In addition, we prepare special educators to teach across the lifespan. We are committed to preparing education professionals who teach towards excellence, who improve the lives of their students, and their professional and academic choices.

The department is home to faculty who teach courses in special education, teacher leadership, curriculum development, and gifted and tealented education. Our teacher education students build their academic skills and knowledge base for the benefit of their future students as well as themselves.
