MA in Educational Leadership

Earn your MA in Educational Leadership in ONE YEAR while working full-time!

Courses will be offered through a combination of online, face-to-face and hybrid models. The cohort of the Fast Track Option will start Summer 2010.

Graduate students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership seeking to be principals, directors, and school superintendents will participate in courses and field experiences:
  1. To help develop and/or support a personal philosophy of education and social consciousness consistent with related theories of learning and human development.
  2. To develop characteristics required for effective leadership in education.
  3. To analyze educational organizations and plan programs and strategies for increasing organizational effectiveness.
  4. To develop techniques to facilitate interpersonal and group problem-solving and decision-making.
  5. To develop skills in managing change and conflict in educational endeavors.
  6. To interpret research findings and design and implement research techniques for their organizational needs.

School Business Administrator Certification

Earn your School Business Administrator Certification in NINE MONTHS while working full-time!

Courses are offered through a combination of online, face-to-face and hybrid models. Applications are now being accepted, and the Fast Track Option will run from Fall 2009 through Spring 2010.

A School Business Administrator performs duties at the school district level in the areas of budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning. S/he typically supervises, manages and coordinates the business affairs of the school district efficiently and effectively to help to achieve the educational goals of the district with the available financial resources.

This 18 credit (accelerated 9 month) program is designed to provide the required coursework for the State of NJ school business administrator certificate of eligibility, for individuals who already hold a Master's degree or higher or for those who are in possession of a certified public accountant license. This fast track option is offered only in the fall and spring through a combination of weekend and online courses.

Traders to Teachers: Prepare to Teach Math through an Accelerated Three Month Program

Montclair State University is pleased to announce *Traders to Teachers*, a teacher preparation program that allows individuals displaced from the financial sector or similar industries to pursue certification to teach mathematics. This accelerated program, which is supported by the collaborative efforts of the College of Education & Human Services and the College of Science & Mathematics is for individuals who have used mathematics in their jobs, have a sincere desire to become mathematics teachers, but did not major in mathematics in college.
